We have been serving the midtown Tulsa area with excellent veterinary medicine for more than 50 years! Our hospital offers wellness and sick care, vaccines, parasite control, internal medicine, laser therapy, spay and neuter, surgery, x-rays, ultrasounds and acupuncture. We also provide wellness plans for pets of all ages.

James Osborn
DVMDr. Osborn has been with Woodland since 1972. He has pursued different interests in veterinary medicine such as surgery, dentistry, gastroenterology, and dermatology. At this time in his career he enjoys general veterinary medicine treating dogs and cats. In his spare time Dr. Osborn enjoys family life with his wife of 32 years, 2 married daughters and 2 sons. He enjoys church work, photography, and caring for their 4 acre "compound". He loves his Sheltie "Luke" and recently lost his older Sheltie "Katie". His long association with Woodland has been a real blessing to him.

Kathryn Henshaw
DVMDr. Kathryn Henshaw is a graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She spent 3 years as an active duty Army Veterinary Corps Officer stationed in Georgia and South Korea. After leaving active duty as a Captain, she returned home to the Tulsa area and joined VCA. She worked at the VCA Cat Hospital of Tulsa before coming to VCA Woodland Central. Kathryn has a strong interest in surgery (soft tissue and orthopedic) and continues to expand her experience in this area. She enjoys being back in Tulsa near family and friends. Kathryn also answers questions about pets and veterinary care Wednesday mornings on Channel 6 News for the community. She is married to Scott Henshaw. They will be welcoming their first child this October. She has two dogs- Daisy Duke and Diesel and one cat- Sugar. She currently serves as the medical director for VCA Woodland Central.

Kathryn Downie
DVMDr. Kathryn Downie rejoined the VCA Woodland Central Animal Hospital family as a veterinarian in May of 2012. Previously, she worked as a veterinary assistant for Central from 2004-2006. She completed her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Tulsa and worked as a registered nurse for the Tulsa Health Department. After this she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian and attended veterinary school at Oklahoma State University. Her professional interests include ophthalmology and internal medicine. She received the Outstanding Senior in Ophthalmology Award her fourth year of veterinary school. In their free-time, Dr. Downie and her husband Shaun enjoy camping and spending time with their three fur-babies, Tucker, pictured above, and their two cats, Timmy and Teddy Winston.

Melissa Eads
DVMDr. Melissa Eads joined the Woodlands Central team as an associate veterinarian in the fall of 2012. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biomedical Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M University. She practiced at a small animal clinic in Katy, Texas for 1 year before moving to Tulsa. Her professional areas of interest include dentistry, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine. She is happily married to her husband Will. When she is not at the clinic you may find her jogging or riding her road bike along one of the many Tulsa trails. She also loves musical theatre, so if you listen close you may hear her singing a tune in the back of the hospital.
