Fixing things has always been one of my passions. Fixing people make those rewards even greater. When a patient returns and says “Thank you for returning me my life again”, the emotions that cross the mind and the heart are beyond what can be explained with words. Knowing that patients can get better while doing it faster and with less pain during their recovery phases is my number one motivation for me showing to work every day.” Dr. Villamil has been number one in the world for Nuvasive and for Zimmer Biomet in terms of the number of lateral procedures performed per year (for several years). The procedure allows surgeries to be performed in about one hour on average, done by incisions about an inch long which makes recovery much faster for patients. He chose to practice in Tulsa for the large Hispanic population and the opportunity to help patients as a bilingual surgeon. Dr. Villamil is part of Telemundo’s Latin Doctors which is an excellent way to reach patients to teach them about new technologies that exist for the spine.
