Description
The 19-story Tulsa hotel was the tallest building in Oklahoma when first built, and the only place with ice-cold tap water and rooms with ceiling fans. The distinctive Sullivanesque style, Art Deco-era hotel instantly became a high society hub in Tulsa, the Oil Capital of the World.
Oil tycoons such as J Paul Getty conducted business deals in the lobby and celebrity guests such as Babe Ruth, Charles Lindbergh, Lucille Ball and President John F. Kennedy danced in the Crystal Ballroom.
